ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE BASE
Islamic knowledge to the people of this area is derived from moulavis
who graduate are produced from various Arabic colleges in the Island.
If one traces the history and background of these colleges one will
obviously come to the conclusion that most of them cater to the ideology
of certain sects of people or some groups or Tharikas... Some Arabic
Colleges are run by families with vested interests. Some are run
by ideological groups like the Jamaethe Islami or Thableeque Jamath
or Thowheed jamadth or the Sunni Jamath. These Colleges teach the
students only to follow the line of thinking of the particular group
of individuals who are running the madrasa. It was felt by members
of the Kalmunai Himayahul Islam Movement that one should have a Madrassa
or an Arabic College that would teach the students the pure DEEN
of Allah. That is Koran and Sunnah of the Prophet without any innovations.
The choice of which jamath to follow is to be left to the discretion
of the students. Hence the establishment of Al-Hamiya Arabic College.
The curriculum is devised in such a way to achieve this objective.
We follow the middle path, the path of true DEEN of Allah.Hence the
introduction of science, comparative religions, Tamil, English and
Sinhalese in the curriculum. The motto of the students is to study
the true DEEN of Allah practice it in their daily life and propagate
it with fear or favour for none other than Allah. Alhamdulillah we
have produced well over 150 moulavis and many of them have got themselves |
